When I passed my green belt test, I ordered a new dobok, a ProForce 100% cotton 14 oz. one. Boy, was that a mistake. When I washed it, it shrunk. If I let it drip dry, it soured under the trim. PU. It is very humid in my house though.

I decided when I passed my red belt test, I would buy another dobok. I bought a 10 oz. 55% polyester, 45% cotton one. I'm so glad I did. I can wash it and put it in the dryer. It hasn't shrunk. I wash my dobok after every class. This one also holds it shape and it looks sharp without ironing. I was worried it wouldn't have enough stiffness but it does. It's a ProForce also.

Lynne,

I have 7+ uniforms, 4 of them 14 oz Prof Force, 2 of them black trimmed, and I haven't experienced any souring of the uniform...

Did you put on "after market trim" onto your uniform?

Yes, we buy the uniforms unadorned and have them "sent out" for trim.
