My son is five years old. He's really sharp, get's bored in kindergarten, and has a lot of energy. He also likes to go to class and watch me train. Thought now was the right time to get him started. He's loving it! My school has a great kids class called Little Kickers... and my instructors, husband and wife, really enjoy and work well with the kids.

Today was his second class, and he's already broken a plastic training board. Hoping he sticks with it like his dad has. Really looking forward to training in class with him.

Just thought I'd share. :)

His expressions made me smile! As others have said it should just be for fun until he's older. doesn't look as if that will be a problem though!

Thank you, all!

I have an open invitation to join in with his class, but I am going to wait. I have a feeling I would try to make things too serious for him... keep him inline more. I want him to have fun right now. The instructors are so good with the kiddos... they really have a proper perspective on it.

In his first class... the instructors laid out about 20 square hand-size punching pads on the floor in a large square. The kiddos would run around the perimeter to music... throwing punches. When the music stopped, they would quickly find a pad and stand on it. Well... one time, one of our instructors, Mrs. H, didn't stand on her pad... and my boy interrupted the other instructor, Mr. H, to yell at her to stand on her pad. Good lord! I cringed and wanted to hide! LOL!

So yeah... best I let our awesome instructors mold and train the boy a while before I step out there. :)
