What are your favorite sound effects from T.V. shows or movies. Even though I'm starting this thread, I am having a hard time remembering all of the ones I like. Here are a few I can think of right now.

The basic THX sound at the beginning of movies
The sound K.I.T.T. makes when his red eye moves back and forth
Lightsabers
Jango Fett's sonic charges
And for a strange one. The sound the "storage facility" door makes when Ray closes it while showing Winston how to dispose of trapped ghosts.

That can get everyone started. I'll write more as they come to me.

The doors opening and closing from Star Trek the Original Series... (for those old enough to remember that) ...
Bridge sounds from same series

Many sounds from star trek including the doors opening.
The cylons voices in battlestar galactica.
Some of the "bionic" sounds in 6 million dollar man.

Oh yeah... the laser shots from Star Wars... I remember seeing a special about the making of Star Wars (original) and how they got the sound of the laser pistol's firing... went out to the desert where the powerlines were... went up to the guide/tension wires that held the tower to the ground and smacked them with a small hammer and recorded the twang sound with a mic put up close... purty clever if you ask me.

Just rewatched ID4 with my son. I love the sound the little alien fighters make as they are flying and the sound of their lazers.

Two more just popped into my mind. The sound of Zorg's gun in Fifth Element and the Death Star's tractor beam when it's being turned off by old Ben.

This sounds stupid but I love the lack of sound effect when Blade jumps down behind the chick when she is trying to escape.

It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but how about the sounds of the 'Bean Dinner' scene in Blazing Saddles. I never laughed so hard.

They used to censor those sounds out when Blazing Saddles was played on network tv. Imagine my dissapointment when it got to that scene. :(

Not too many of you will remember this one but the sound of the Green Hornet's blasting ray..

One of the most recognizable sounds for MANY of us baby boomers is the sound of Superman's flying and landing from the old TV series...
