I must live under a rock. I've only just learned of Senator Orrin Hatch's (R-Utah) song Eight Days of Hanukkah. From what I gather, the senator, a Mormon, is also an accomplished musician.

Well....I had to listen to the song twice before being able to verbalize my thoughts.

Its not bad. If he was setting out to make a nice, polite song then he got exactly that...a nice, polite song.

But the song just doesn't have the soul that I was hoping to here. That is just crying out for a production that can take the melody and the words and rock out for a bit. If I were still a Berklee student, I'd have a blast redoing this
