Many have asked for the exact wording of the poomsae resolution I put forth to the BOD at our May 31st meeting. Somehow it did not make the minutes of the meeting. For those who are interested, this is the item which was tabled for the next meeting after a brief discussion and a commitment by the CEO to do some fact finding.

The Board of Directors of USA Taekwondo resolves today to affirm our commitment to excellence in all areas of our organization. Changing times bring many changes to the Taewondo world and the BOD of USAT recognizes these changes. With this resolution we announce our intention to support the USAT Poomsae Program. As a board, we direct the USAT CEO to work to further incorporate Poomsae training, Poomsae official training, Competition Poomsae events into the mainstream of our USAT programming. Furthermore, within the confines of our abilities, we ask the CEO to:
1. Promote Poomsae and Competition Poomsae events within our USAT qualifiers, US Open and USAT Nationals.
2. Promote the continuing education of Poomsae in the United States to bring our competitors to the same levels as other countrie s.
3. Promote the continuation and improvement of the Poomsae Referee Certification programs and continue to promote the education and continuing education of poomsae judges representing the USAT.
4. Direct staff to handle all administrative aspects of any Poomsae team representing USAT at any WTF or International Competition. This to include sending USAT office personnel with any USAT team competing at a WTF event.
5. Work to find funding to help support any USAT Poomsae sponsored team.
6. Work with PATU to be a part of our Continental Poomsae program.
7. Develop a long term strategy to eventually fully self-fund future Poomsae teams sponsored by USA Taekwondo.[/FONT]
