I am adding boxing practice to my self-defense classes. The focus is on SD, but this activity is going to be restricted to boxing and hand techniques.

I am trying to get the safest headgear and gloves for this activity. Right now I am considering the following headgear and gloves:

Everlast 18oz. training gloves

Top Ten training headgear

Can anyone give advice about the best headgear and gloves available? Thank you.

If its people that don't like to get hit and are overly cautious about fists hitting there nose you might opt for a facesaver headgear rather then standard sparring one. Lose some vision with them, but for what you are doing it might be a better plan, folks looking for self-defence classes are usually not looking to get punched in the face.

Hello, In our school our "Insurance" did not cover boxing using head gear and gloves and so on.

So our Professor does NOT allow regular boxing. Some of our Sensi did BOX in there younger years and can teach techniques, but NO one is allow to go and fight like in a boxing ring.

Something you may want to check in on? with your Insurance company.

Boxing schools may have a different Insurance policy. Our do not cover Boxing. (cost a lot more).

Aloha
