Bigak & Hanryu

IRISH KMA

White Belt
I know these forms came out a couple years ago but have not really heard anything about them since. My question is why were they created and is there a future for them?

Thanks

Patrick

No-one else more senior has replied, I guess I will...

As far as I know they were created to try and modernise the forms and make them more exciting to watch for pattern competitions. However, once they were done the response was less than stellar (I believe by the seniors involved and the sport poomsae community) so they were dropped.

I haven't seen any official descriptions of how to perform them.

I believe they were dropped. However, there have been development on creative Poomsae competition. Traditional Poomsae with modifications, on movement and acrobatics. I'm not sure it will be possible for whole new Poomsae to be created by the competitors, however.
