Yeah that was the sort of thingI waslooking at. Realistically what would they help you achieve?


If you mean the stretching machines, the goal is help you achieve the side splits. Which is nice, but it's only one stretch....and not everyone is capable of it no matter how much they try. That's why I recommend Sang H. Kim's dvd &/or book on stretching for a more well-rounded stretching routine. It's much cheaper than the machine, too!

For stretching I would recommend doing light exercised til you get warmed up. Once your muscles are warm it is much safer to strech. I have pulled muscles streching without warming up. It isn't fun. Another great time to stretch is after you are done with TKD practice or any other strenuous workout. You will be able to go down a lot further than you could at the beginning of class. I try to hold every strech that I do at the end of a workout for at least 30 seconds. An extra 5-10 min of stretching after a workout makes all the differance.
