Asai apparently made great success in Taiwan in early 1970’s opening several Karate dojos on the island, his wife was from Taiwan and his brother in law was a BaiHequan practitioner with whom he exchanged martial art expertise

Asai is impressive because he was able to open his mind and incorporate Chinese elements into his karate and applied a whip like motion to his techniques.I appreciate anyone that can think outside the box

In your opinion...all I did was post a complimentary comment about a shotokan master I admire...I thought I might come back after a break to see if this site had improved but it still appears to be full of wankers with their heads up their backsides

I have shown nothing but kindness to the OP in the past, when he has DM me (and he has, many times) about his issues, problems and anecdotes etc. The behaves in this manner after I request some further clarification to his inane original post. A great shame and it is clear he is not a gentleman and he certainly is not a bushi.

Yes he lived several years in Taiwan, his brother in law was a practitioner of Baihequan(white crane gong fu) with whom he shared ideas of martial arts, however his brother in law came to lean more on karate(Shotokan) helping out Asai in opening dojos and teaching around the Taiwan province.
Even Nakayama Masatoshi, founder of the JKA and Asia’s mentor had learnt some Chinese martial arts while stationed in Manchuria, however whatever amount of Chinese martial arts they may have adopted into the JKA it’s not shown specifically in its performance, Asia’s specific agility of jumping around an attacker is not a specific Baihequan thing, however it’s a thing in some of the traditional Shotokan katas.
