A good day all round the UK, we went to an afternoon of displays and fun raising on Catterick Garrison. The Scots Guards were marching through Dundee after getting the Freedom of the City, wonderful sight, I watched them rehearse on the parade square the other day. They will be drinking the place dry now, hope a couple of them won't , they're fighting tomorrow for us!

Good stuff, Tez

In a different universe where I disobeyed my father I might even have been in that last picture there :). Might-have-beens are the worst ...

Shutout to my niece, Sgt. E, who has been activated and deployed to Afghanistan.

Tez, you're in Dundee?

No, I'm in Catterick Garrison. Off shortly to Dalkeith where we have a fight night, our martial arts club is on the Scots Guards' barracks, lots of our lads are from that regt though we have students from the other regiments and a few civvies as well.

Our club's conditioning coach in the wet bearskin!. Photo's of SGs sent by him. The Brigade including most of our martial arts students are off for 7 month tour of Afghan in September.

It is so freaking hot here, the thought of full uniforms makes me want to pass out...let alone bear skin hats (wet bearskins?)

We are having triple digits temps here...the Atlanta baseball club hosted a bunch of soldiers today...the new uniforms re really something, you can't even roll the sleeves up anymore.... :(
