anybody doing Pankration?

This is perhaps the most ancient martial art? No savez.
Pankration the Greek art of grappling and striking, the Jim Arvantis book looks pretty cool, I know he trains people in this too.
But anybody studying this? Self study? Or other?

Pankration is also a sport. It is going to be part of FILA's World Wrestling Games in Turkey this September along with Sambo and Grappling.

There will also be a large tournament in San Diego Aug 11. www.wamaigames.com

Sep. 10th Return to San Diego/ Chicago.

Let me add on to this, I noticed all the Gyms in Cali. I hope they open up one in New Mexico too I would like to cross-train.

Almost all those gyms are straight up MMA, Jiujitsu or Traditional Martial Arts Schools that participate in the tournaments. There are a few schools that train Pankration as the style as well but in essence it is MMA.

We have not had any competitors from New Mexico in any league events yet, thats why no schools are named there.

Yeah they stick to pretty much Kickboxing out here.

Over 250 are expected this Saturday at the WAMAI Pankration Championships in San Diego.
