To George Dillman and all associates and affiliates, Yellow Bamboo, and the rest of the Chi Masters, I just want to say sorry. Sorry I doubted you and your skills. Sorry I made fun of you. Sorry for, well... everything.

Thereā€™s no doubt in my mind anymore. Iā€™m no longer a ā€œnon-believerā€ as Dillman called my former self. About 3:45 into this video has changed me forever...

Hahaha absolutely bizarre... he went stiff as a board and just dropped! Yep, a kamehameha or a 14 episodes-worth of charging and that spirit bomb finally got him XD

Looks like when he got up, it's because he got kicked in the face, and it took him a moment to pass out. Or something like that.

I'd say it's more likely a result of the choke hold he was in earlier in the fight (2:15-2:40), even though he got out of it before the lack of oxygen to the brain caused a loss a consciousness.

I read that it was probably because heā€™d been in the choke for a while, and when he got up it caught up with him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was dehydrated from the weight cut, then after being in the choke for a while and standing up his blood pressure had a sudden drastic drop. (Leading to his whole body having a sudden drastic drop.)

Yep
Postural hypotension or orthostatic hypotension which is the sudden fall in blood pressure that occurs when you stand up quickly. Most likely cause in a fighter is dehydration from his weight cut.

Good to know the official name for it. My blood pressure tends to be on the low side and I occasionally I stand up too quickly and feel like I'm about to pass out. Fortunately I usually keep myself well hydrated.

This would be my suspicion. My BP starts low and drops when I stand up, especially from a crouch. Add the choke and dehydration to that, and I could see that as happening to me.

I've actually hit the floor once or twice from that. Never a full blackout, but enough of a grey-out to put me down while I "watch".

Ah, but the "magic chi ball" sounds SO much cooler than orthostatic hypotension.

All kidding aside, I was glad to see him up afterwards. A lot can go wrong, in the sport. When someone just str8 falls out, it can be pretty serious.

So all you guys with this hypotension stuff need to avoid Viagra and Cialis, right?

I keep hearing about an unsafe drop in blood pressure as a side effect at the end of the commercials. I wouldnā€™t know though, as my Problem is high blood pressure.

Based on your vitals, you are not really alive. You have no blood pressure, no temperature, and no pulse to speak of.
