Yup - just like the title sez.

Step back from who you want to win or who you think should win and tell us who you think WILL win the election and why.

John McCain.

We've all seen the maps showing the states as red/blue based on their voting trends. I've read a lot of polls lately showing larger than expected support for McCain in states generally known to be diehard blue states.

Of course, we know what the value of polls are, but it's not like I'm going to lose money on this prediction. Unless Bob wants to set up a feature in the casino. ;)

McCain/Palin. We're at war--people will turn to the Republicans, whom they perceive to be more hawkish.

McCain/Palin, because I think it was already decided upon months ago, and the rest is a formality.

This Wall Street bail out is enormously unpopular..... combined with Iraq, McCain/ Palin will go down in November for Bush's sins.

Obama/Biden will be the new Administration.

You know I think you are right on there and that it is pretty much a done deal at this point.

While that might be sage prognostication in your neck of the woods, it's not true everywhere, or what polls (other than those on Not-er, FoxNews) say.

Here's Yahoo's compiliation of polls and election markets.

THer'es a very good chance Obama will win-it depends a lot on what happens over the next 50 days or so-economically, internationally, and appearance-wise(debates, scandals, temper-tantrums, misspeaking, etc.). Some of those things might not change your mind, or my mind, but they'll make up other people's minds.

Nixon was leading in the polls against Kennedy, until the televised debates-he looked bad. He gave good answers, but people didn't like the way he looked, and Kennedy won. It wasn't the only factor in that election, but it was a factor.

Fact is, it's too early to tell-but I think Obama is gonna win......

i dont see it happening, and I will tell you why Elder.

just on the face of it, you are right.

BUT

and this is a big BUT

alot of his numbers are comming from people in thier first 4 years as a voter. That block typically votes in the LOWEST numbers of any voters

they may just not show up

plus, the smear campaign on Palin is hurting the dems more than helpng them.
