Typing Test

We do an awful lot of typing here on Martial Talk. But just how fast can most of us type? I found this neato test that gives us words to type from a list of 70,000 chosen randomly. http://www.jonmiles.co.uk/fingerjig.php
I averaged 35-41 wpm with a score of about 270 K... thought that wasn't TOO bad... but then saw the high scores and buried my head under my keyboard...

how well did you do?

I got 340k, and learnt that my vocabulary sucks, probably made more mispellings in the last 6 mins then in the month before that :s

I got a final score of 558,207, with a net of 55.2 wpm... but I type a lot at work. The longer words really threw me, as did having the letters flying at me - I got better as I got used to it.

I'm very inconsistent. Some letter combinations I fly over while others get me pretty tangled up. Generally grossing 40-50 but adjusted down to 30-40wpm.

I got 600k for a score with a wpm of around 50. That was kind of fun. I reminded me of a game that my kids have me play on their WebKins site.

I got a score of 621,023, my early wpm were mid 40's to low 50's, and for the big words it was mid 30's. Apparently I need an ergonomic keyboard, my right hand is sort of cramping.

edit: did it a second time for a score of 773,833, I found I do it better if I don't look at the screen when I type the big words. The words flying at me confuses me where I am or something.

I noticed my LEFT hand flies, but my right hand .. not so much.

My right hand especially has problems with the o and p area. I'm starting to wonder if it is an ergonomic thing ...

I ended up with a 704,222. Avg wpm of 45-55.

The one handed words got me. I was surprised to see I struggled with the right-handed words moreso than the left. Words like puppy, poppy and onion threw me off for some reason.

Fun.
