I've always wondered if the shaky cam stuff was purely a method to hide the incompetence of the actors, or if they genuinely believe it looks good like that.
Yeah it's to hide how bad they are do you really think matt Damon or Liam neeson are amazing fighters. That style was even used in Bruce lee movies look at enter the dragon. Lee and jim Kelly were great martial artists so the camera was far back and showed them properly. But John Saxon who wasnt a martial artist at all for him they had to use close ups and rarely ever showed him actually throwing a kick.

Since many arts take at least 5-7 years to get to BB, that's still a lot of time spent studying multiple arts. Not impossible, but the people I've met who claim anything even close to that many have at least one or two ranks that I'd classify as questionable.
Depends upon whether the skills in one art are complimentary to another.

Also depends upon how the person is training. A person who's livelihood is martial arts will probably log a lot more hours training than most people.
