Check out this koryu school, their battojutsu is really impressive!

There are only a few legitimate koryu still extant, and many more modern impersonations or approximations - some clearly worthwhile, some... less so.

It isn't a koryu - it's a 'reconstruction' based on the old densho. They seem very invested in batto, and come up with thousands of permutations of dramatic battojutsu scenarios. Not bad, just not koryu.

Hey, Brendan, welcome aboard!

Yep, as Brendan said, the Tenshin Ryu Hyoho group aren't Koryu in the sense of being a continual lineage from pre-Meiji Japan, rather, it's a modern group reconstructing their take on a number of older scrolls... not completely dissimilar to HEMA approaches. That said, the overt "flashyness" of their batto, and the focus on "speed equals everything", as well as a number of other aspects, do separate them quite distinctly from Koryu systems in Japan.

Personally, I'm more impressed with precision, and commitment to an action, with little to no flash involved (which is more typical of Japanese arts) than what the Tenshin Ryu group do... but I'm interested in what you find impressive about it. Can you expand for us?
