The lapel grab, roundhouse attack at 1:27 is an attack that we use in our school on a fairly regular basis. The defense that he uses is one that we call "Over the Back" in my style. I've never thought of using that defense for that particular attack. You can bet I'll be trying that one out in the dojo tomorrow.
