Taijiquan - Xingyiquan

Read something interesting

"Taijiquan practitioners seek to develop a strong core which becomes rooted and immovable on contact. Xingyi practioners are far more mobil and direct in their approach to combat"

I agree with the Xingyiquan bit, but I there was movement in taijiquan as well, although XIngyi did tend to have more explosive movements that covered greater distance

Some of the old masters of XYQ spoke of its power referreing to a spinning top, anything got into contact with it instantly got repelled.
One could say the same objective hold true about TJQ.
However there’s a slight difference, generalized I say wheels, both XYQ and TJQ could said to be as containing two wheels one vertical wheel and an horizontal wheel spinning in unison, but XYQ is slightly more pronounced in the vertical, thus an emphasis on moving forward(and backwards). While TJQ is balanced in vertical and horizontal and takes on more of a spherical sense , balanced like a gyroscope .
