No. Please don't buy this book. It is only for openminded people. It cover subjects that many today Taiji Quan masters will not like. It is about the real Taiji Quan, not what is today taught as Taiji Quan.

I didn't published the book to get money, but to spread the real Taijiquan. Some may like it, some may not. However IMHO it is the truth, you like it or not. Many people in today Taijiquan don't know the real Taijiquan.

many don't this is true.... but assuming no one does and believing you are the only one who knows and trying to be the Taiji messiah is not the best path

IMHO what I wrote is the truth. I wrote also my sources. Many also were not mentioned, to not going to wide. I don't want to be a messiah, just to put Taiji back on the right track. Many will not understand what is written in the book, but if the book will make 1% of the readers to understand what the real Taijiquan is then the purpose of the book will be achived.

ok

Yes, but how this guy (twocircles13) can comment the book if he didn't read it? Many topics covered in thsis book can't be found in no other book on Taiji Quan. I have more than 1000 books on IMA, so I know that.
Zhang Sanfeng
have you read more than 1000 books on the subject? Are they all good sources? I mean one could read every book my Ashida Kim and still have no idea what they are talking about. You can also site reputable sources as to Taijiquan coming from Zhang Sanfeng, who only put it in their book because that is what their teacher told them....yet there is no verifiable existing historical proof of his existence.

And the question is, was the guy on EF correct in his assessment of where it appears to be coming from?

OK

Are you on that forum ? Who on there is you ?
I have not posted there in years, not even sure what my user name was there. I started in the days of Empty Flower, that was a great site with a lot about IMA, but it was dedicated to Xingyiquan. Then EF got sold, and I don't remember what it was called then, then a feud ensued between the original owner of Empty Flower and the new owners, and that is when I believe Rum Soak fist appears, then the other site finally folded and somewhere in there the original owner of EF passed away. I never got much into RSF or the other site.... I am not sure what my handle was on those.

I do however occasionally peruse RSF, and I happened to come across a thread about the very same book.

In summary, what do you consider to be the main points of authentic taiji practice?
What aspects of the practice do you feel are most commonly misunderstood by practitioners?

Are there any examples of individuals or groups who, in your opinion, are practicing authentic taiji
now ?

Having practiced the art for a while, find it interesting to hear others’ perspectives.
Asked out of curiosity,

Asked out of curiosity,
1) The main points of the authentic Taiji practice is 100% following the principles and do all the drills corectly to develope the right Taiji skills.
2) Is difficult to say where are today practiced the authentic Taiji now. Seems it almost not survived completely. I found about it in various surces but in all schools seems were some distortion. There are some schools that have more authentic aproach, but as I said are rare. Mainly are some school who come from the Imperial Palace that learned from Yang Ban Hou the Striking hands method and not the Pushing hands method, but also some advanced Cheng Man Ching's students (mainly from Taiwan and Malaysia) use the Taiji principles correctly.
3) I started with Tai Chi almost 25 years ago. I could not understand how it could be used for fighting. I researched any possible source. I tried to eliminate all the nonsense and found what has a real practical use in fighting. So I found about the principles and how they should be used. I tried with various martial arts and they works. They are the same as in the classics, just you have to now how to use them.

I will tell you, I was intrigued and thought, if I am going to critique, why don't I buy it and read it....I mean since you said it was such a low price......."Such a low price"...really...... $30 is a low price...not really

Yang Style
Book by Fu Xhongwen is $16.74
Yang Swing Ming $16.49 and 14.49
Yang Chengfu $16.95

Sun Style taijiquan books, by Sun Lutang less that $25

Chen style books, from the Chen family are less than $20

Wu style books less that $20

Based on that, $30 is not a low price, rather high actually for an unknown making extraordinary claims

But I do have to thank you, in my search for book prices to compare I did find one I am interested in

Scientific Taijiquan Volume Two: The Wu Jianquan Taijiquan Teachings of Chu Minyi, and its only $11.99. That one I did purchased, Without this thread, I am not sure I would have found that, thanks
