Haha oh that is a brilliant reason for liking lots of genres that you have a short attention span LOLs.. I totally agree and have friends still into the same tunes that passed for something like 15-20yr ago.. I am with you, there is too much good new stuff to ignore it. I am not saying the old ones are not good no sir and but how wonderful to widen our musical tastes, you have hit the nail with one blow saying it is about eliciting emotion. True dat! I think if I do not FEEL anything with a piece of music then it is not for me..

That is a fantastic story of your influences.. Bluegrass from Irish folk? really? That is cool oh I know all you Americans treasure your Irish roots and so you should, it is a super place, have you been? I was in Dublin over the summer, very cool city, young people, very vibrant and friendly to us they were.. sorry that is rambling..

And no ways you like Moody Blues? See I had taken you for a mosher plain and simple.. I love to know people whose tastes are not restricted. I cannot appreciate that someone likes a genre to the exclusion of all others. That does not make sense to me. I can say hand-on-heart there is not a genre I would not at least try and because there can be something there to elicit that emotional, head-nodding response as you said.

Oh thank you for sharing I am very grateful to know bout your history thank you! And the song is real good ol fashioned RnR!! Guy sounds Australian? I am guessing by the look of them they have been around the block and back?? That is a great lyric.. Taught how to take off, I don't know how to land.. I like that oh yes haha..

Oh I want to share this with you if that is ok??? I am all ambivalent bout this it was what I brought on my little CD player first time I ran away
I have not heard them in ages. I worry it is a little too soft for you maybes and you would not listen and but I will cross my fingers that you like :) Jenna x

....I think you finally got me...I don't think I've heard of these guys before but I like it. Sounds "Alternative"

Looking at the posts it appears the singer is dead. ...sad. A lot of good bands end way before their time becuase of deaths in the group.

Ever heard of Mother Lovebone? Great Alternative band...some consider them to be the "fathers of gunge"...anyway... I'll bet you like this one. :)

Hey Celtic, you picked my favourite Mother Love Bone song, nice man!

Out of the ashes of MLB, however, came Temple Of The Dog, with Chris Cornell, Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, although Matt is now in Pearl Jam), Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam, although it didn't exist yet, most were in Mother Love Bone), and a guest, Eddie Vedder on Hunger Strike (I think I posted that one's lyrics before...). They were formed to pay tribute to Andrew Wood after he died, and made one album.

Ooh I sense a disdain in the quotation marks of "alternative"? LOLs that is ok I understand where you are coming from .. Wow that is a beautiful piece of music you have given me though I am grateful thank you [and you bet correctly!] Fathers of grunge eh? Has an epic Robert Plant/Axl Rose/Pearl Jam vibe wonderful yes! thank you so much! And then here is mine for you, Iggy freaks me more than a little I would admit and but this song is totally animal.. Hope you like?

It's a shame I threw most of my music into storage a couple weeks ago. Today I've had Prince running through my head.

Actually maybe it's a good thing I don't have easy access to this song, it might get me into trouble. :whip1: Several years ago I went to a Victor Wooten concert with a friend of mine who was devoutly religious and squeaky-clean. Future Man veered into a cover of Gett Off and I'll never forget the look on my friend's face. It was stuck there for days.

Baby tonight you're a star! And I'm the big dipper. LOL

The new 5 Finger Death Punch is out and along with an awesome cover of "Bad Company" is a song called "Undone" that has become my fav of the moment.

It reminds me that what is done can not be undone so it's a good idea to keep that in mind before popping off in anger and saying or doing something you will likely regret.

And also, with regret...comes the weight of it, that many of us bear through out entire lifetimes; never to shed it and know the relief forgiveness can bring.

But that's enough "Deep Thoughts" for the moment...lol... I hope you enjoy the tunes.

Sometimes...
Things get so jaded
Still my heart slowly beats.
Sometimes...
Life gets complicated
Still the world around me sleeps.

I'm ashamed
I'm to blame
Don't want to think about it
Who I am
What I've done
How do I carry on?
What it takes
Turn the page
Don't want to think about it
How do I undo what's done?
...undo what's done...

Sometimes...
Things get so faded
How is it that you can't see it?
Sometimes...
Life seems over rated
Makes my heart slowly bleed

I'm ashamed
I'm to blame
Don't want to think about it
Who I am
What I've done
How do I carry on?
What it takes
Turn the page
Don't want to think about it
How do I undo what's done?
...undo what's done...
...undo what's done...

Celldweller - The Last Firstborn

oh man, I can't believe that you did what they said
you did and to this day I've still gotta say that in
my mind I question it I wish I knew what you had
meant before you went and left me wondering to
just an echo of your voice

now I wait to take my turn to bleed like a kid playing
with a razorblade and wonder if I have the
balls at all or am I gonna be afraid where are
you? what do you think? cuz I’m not sure when
knocking at death's door if I will be welcome in
or be left alone outside

I hear the sound of a heart
from the shadow in the dark
waiting for the poison to hit its mark
(listen--my son)

I see the darkness
surround the shape on the ground the
killer straight up and a body face
down (firstborn-last one)

I hear the
din of the screams, sorrow in streams
the smell of farewell and gasoline
(listen--my son)

I see a heart set free
and my legacy hear a voice from a
shadow that is beckoning me
(firstborn-last one)

I guess there comes a point when you
think to yourself "this isn't worth it, it
isn't worth it" and now I feel what you felt, and now I feel what you felt inside brother
and now I feel what you felt
this isn't worth it, it isn't worth it

I hear the sound of a heart
from the shadow in the dark
waiting for the poison to hit its mark
(listen--my son)

I see the darkness
surround the shape on the ground the
killer straight up and a body face
down (firstborn-last one)

I hear the
din of the screams, sorrow in streams
the smell of farewell and gasoline
(listen--my son)

I see a heart set free
and my legacy hear a voice from a
shadow that is beckoning me
(firstborn-last one--listen)

I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't end this way.
I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't end this way.
I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't end this way.
I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't end this way.
I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't end this way.
I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't, I wish it didn't end this way.

live a life in hell through a mortal shell asphyxiating
smell for a crime lifetime imagination
locked in a cell and to the other
firstborn, I see the same scene that
must play over in your mind and now
how much more I'm sure it's fukt with
your head just like it's fukt up mine.
"listen my son-firstborn last one"
the message you sent out to me-I can not
change what's meant to be
the message you sent out to me-I can not
change what's meant to be

what am I supposed to do now?

I hear the sound of a heart
from the shadow in the dark
waiting for the poison to hit its mark
[hit its mark hit its mark]

I see the darkness
surround the shape on the ground the
killer straight up and a body face
down
body face down body face down

I hear the
din of the screams, sorrow in streams
the smell of farewell and gasoline
(listen)

Reborn
Scar Symmetry - Reborn

The path before you
Never coming to a halt
It stretches endlessly
From here into the unknown
Looking back
You barely see through the fog
What you were once, you are no more

Each moment unique
None exactly the same
Defied, denied to live
And exist like this again
Now you will see you are reborn
Arrive, arise to your new world
As this one dies
Forever death will erase everything

At dusk arrives
The dark night of the soul
Waiting to crush
Every stone left unturned
As you enter
Go at least with this certainty
You will emerge at dawn transformed

Each moment unique
None exactly the same
Defied, denied to live
And exist like this again
Now you will see you are reborn
Arrive, arise to your new world
As this one dies
Forever death will embrace everything

All things end, none survives
Every form must fade away

All things end, changing shape
Waking to life again

Each moment unique
None exactly the same
Defied, denied to live
And exist like this again
Now you will see you are reborn
Arrive, arise to your new world
As this one dies
Forever death will erase everything

OK the other day I couldn't get Tigger's theme song out of my head and to day it is this.... and I have not heard this in years.... I am beginning to believe I need to seek psychiatric help :anic: :D

Cowboys From Hell

Under the lights where we stand tall
Nobody touches us at all
Showdown, shootout, spread fear within, without
We're gonna take what's ours to have
Spread the word throughout the land
They say the bad guys wear black
We're tagged and can't turn back

You see us comin'
And you all together run for cover
We're taking over this town

Here we come reach for your gun
And you better listen well my friend, you see
It's been slow down below,
Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell
Deed is done again, we've won
Ain't talking no tall tales friend
'Cause high noon, your doom
Comin' for you we're the cowboys from hell

Pillage the village, trash the scene
But better not take it out on me
'Cause a ghost town is found
Where your city used to be
So out of the darkness and into the light
Sparks fly everywhere in sight
From my double barrel, 12 gauge,
Can't lock me in your cage

You see us comin'
And you all together run for cover
We're taking over this town

Here we come reach for your gun
And you better listen well my friend, you see
It's been slow down below,
Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell
Deed is done again, we've won
Ain't talking no tall tales friend
'Cause high noon, your doom
Comin' for you we're the cowboys from hell

Just to take a break from the breakin', head-bangin', and Tiggers... even though they really are a wonderful thing... LOL

I heard this the other day. Great song titled "Ole Red". Reminds me of Classic C&W where the songs tell stories with a good hook and/or moral at the end.

A good toe-tapper and likely to bring a smile to your face in the end with the classic line, "Love got me in here, love got me out."

Well I caught my wife with another man
And it cost me ninety nine
On a prison farm in Georgia
Close to the Florida line
Well I'd been here for two long years
I finally made the warden my friend
And so he sentenced me to a life of ease
Taking care of Ol Red

Now Ol' Red he's the damnedest dog that I've ever seen
Got a nose that can smell a two day trail
He's a four legged tracking machine
You can consider yourself mighty lucky
To get past the gators and the quicksand beds
But all these years that I've been here
Ain't nobody got past Red

And the warden sang
Come on somebody
Why don't you run
Ol' Red's itchin' to have a little fun
Get my lantern
Get my gun
Red'll have you treed before the mornin' comes

Well I paid off the guard and I slipped out a letter
To my cousin up in Tennessee
Oh and he brought down a blue tick hound
She was pretty as she could be
Well they penned her up in the swampland
'Bout a mile just south of the gate
And I'd take Ol' Red for his evening run
I'd just drop him off and wait

And the warden sang
Come on somebody
Why don't you run
Ol' Red's itchin' to have a little fun
Get my lantern
Get my gun
Red'll have you treed before the mornin' comes

Now Ol' Red got real used to seeing
His lady every night
And so I kept him away for three or four days
And waited till the time got right
Well I made my run with the evenin' sun
And I smiled when I heard 'em turn Red out
'Cause I was headed north to Tennessee
And Ol' Red was headed south

And the warden sang
Come on somebody
Why don't you run
Ol' Red's itchin' to have a little fun
Get my lantern
Get my gun
Red'll have you treed before the mornin' comes

Now there's red haired blue ticks all in the South
Love got me in here and love got me out

Any dolt with half a brain
can see that humankind has gone insane
to the point where I don't know if I'll upset the status quo
if I throw poison in the water main

Listen close to everybody's heart
and hear that breaking sound
Hopes and dreams are shattering apart
and crashing to the ground

I cannot believe my eyes
how the world's filled with filth and lies
But it's plain to see evil inside of me
is on the rise

Anyone with half a brain
can spend their whole life howling in pain
The dark is everywhere and Penny doesn't seem to care
that soon the dark in me is all that will remain
Listen close to everybody's heart
and hear that breaking sound
Hopes and dreams are shattering apart
and crashing to the ground

I can not believe my eyes
how the world's filled with filth and lies
But it's plain to see evil inside of me
is on the rise

Yeeeaaaayyy ,music :)

I listen to alot of music during the day. Now I'm into a hip hop stage, although I enjoy classical and opera as well..

Masta Killa - Masta Killa

Most secretive member of the wu tang clan. Has deep lyrics and most of the times his lyrics have triple meaning. Features bruce lee sample!

Apart from that I'm enjoying the latest dead prez album alot. They have some radical ideas, but they have been maturing along the way. Best song without a doubt is politrikkks. It's on youtube as well!

Apart from that, hardcore for workouts. Especially fury of five.
Music is life.

Guerrilla Radio
Rage Against The Machine

Transmission third world war third round
A decade of the weapon of sound above ground
No shelter if you're lookin' for shade
I lick shots at the brutal charade
As the polls close like a casket
On truth devoured
A Silent play in the shadow of power
A spectacle monopolized
The camera's eyes on choice disguised
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?
Yes a spectacle monopolized
They hold the reins and stole your eyes
Or the fistagons
The bullets and bombs
Who stuff the banks
Who staff the party ranks
More for Gore or the son of a drug lord
None of the above f**k it cut the cord

Lights out
Guerrilla Radio
Turn that s**t up

Lights out
Guerrilla Radio
Turn that s**t up

Contact I highjacked the frequencies
Blockin' the beltway
Move on D.C.
Way past the days of Bombin' M.C.'s
Sound off Mumia guan be free
Who gottem yo check the federal file
All you pen devils know the trial was vile
An army of pigs try to silence my style
Off 'em all out that box
It's my radio dial

Lights out
