Wow, stuff about me. Um, I started training when I was around 7 or 8 in TKD. My dad did it in Korea and taught me a little. Formally started in ITA/USTA TKD when I was 15. Bert Kollars TKD Plus in Pensacola FL. I got a red belt in that stuff. Joined the Corps in 1997, got back into martial arts a little but nothing big. Began training with James at his school in Cali in 2002. I've since found the best group of guys I've ever trained with. We work alot with the military, teaching to Spec Ops and regular line troops. That's me and my training. Now for everything else.

Come out to the dojo. See if it's what your looking for. I love training there, but it's not for everyone.

My personal opinions about MCMAP are just that. My own. I think that what the army is doing in combatives is above ours at this time. The Corps went through alot to develop MCMAP, I think it had the right idea. MCMAP is supposed to be based in Goju Ryu Karate, I see some of the body hardening, but it seems to stop there. There is a big chunk about the warrior ethos and all that jazz. All you get most of the time is an old fashioned haze fest. I've seen MCMAP instructors that are great and I've seen some that stink. I think it's great as a base to something else, but that's about it.
