New cage

J. Pickard

Black Belt
We got a new cage for our point mma/kickboxing/KT training. YAY!! Turns out it is a great tool for our preschool instructor as well. We have done some fun drills and training in here and wonder what else we could do. We have used it to practice ring control for sport including point karate, using it to set up takedowns against the fence in mma and KT, and for getting out of the corner/off the wall in a self-defense situation. We also use it for our preschool class because there is a corner for each kid to sit and listen and they love practicing breakfalls on the mat. If you had a boxing ring/mma cage what are some drills and things you would do and what target age for each drill? it's a 5.5m diameter cage which is about 18 ft in freedom units.

I have a pet snake who has outgrown her terrarium and I'm setting up a new cage for her. So we both have new cages to simulate strangulation in.
This is Bolo, he is an eastern Indigo snake, Drymarchon couperii. He is 9 years old and 8.5 ft long. He weighs in around 12-15 lbs depending on meals and time of year. His enclosure, (we don’t use the word “cage” to describe animal habitats) is 6.5 ft long, 6.5 feet tall, and 4 feet wide. What species do you keep? May I see pics?

For several years we had 2 Iguanas. they started out about 8" long and we had them in an old aquarium. The I found a plexiglass container, about 18" square by 8' long with doors on both ends. So we moved them. They started to get larger so my son let them roam in his room and eventually free roam the house. Interestingly he potty trained them with a cat litter box. And the heat stone and food was in the plexiglass container.
One grew to about 5' and the other 6'. Then they got ornery. really ornery, so he took them to animal rescue and a woman came out and asked him what was in the pillow cases. He said iguanas. She asked if she could have them and he gave them to her. Awhile late he came across her in a store. She said the one was very ornery. It escaped her house and climbed a tree. They could not get it down so it stayed there 3 days and came down of it own accord. She took it back in the house. Said it had an attitude adjustment. and was doing fine! last we heard.

This is Sammy (the Samurai), a reluctant adoption after nobody else would accept this anxious and occasionally aggressive, 6 year old Felis catus into their homes (twice adopted and returned). After four months he’s the softest, most loving cat I’ve ever had, with his single right ‘milk paw’.

His enclosure appears to be half mile radius around our house judging by the number of locals who return the collars he manages to slip off and various video doorbell footage. He is a prolific hunter, unfortunately, exclusively favouring small rodents. His adoption is one the best thing I’ve done!😍🥰

The male green iguana has the largest testes in animals proportionate to their size. Very much a green scaly rooster in personality. They can be very aggressive as adults and particularly so towards human females in estrus. I recommend Argentine Chacoan Tegu for a large pet lizard. They are wonderful and affectionate towards their human and can be potty trained as well. The only issue is that they need brumation periods each year.

That's actually pretty neet. Never knew this about iguanas
