The following are clips from Vocotruyen. This is a traditional Vietnamese art.

This material was posted by Money in the Indochinese section. Even though it is not kung fu it is so close that I think it will be of interest to all kung fu practitioners.

Definitely see a relation to Northern Longfist here. More of the Wushu aspects of course. One thing I have to say is they were going way too fast and the techniques had almost no power. For whatever reason their teacher is focusing on speed. Impressive to watch , but speed with no power = zipola. Definitely more of a flashy entertainment art. Some of those Dao forms are most definitely Northern Longfist. I would not be surprised if their teacher trained at Shaolin at one point and just brought it back to Vietnam.

P.S. The second Long Handled Dao is how it should be done. Must be a age thing. The adult seemed to have proper power , flow, speed , and balanced it all very well. Not sure why the kids consistently went about 150% too fast. Just my thoughts.

It actually makes perfect sense. There has always been alot of cultural exchange between China and Vietnam. It would actually blow me away if there was no link between the two styles.

I agree 100% about the speed, but at the same time am very impressed with the skill and stance work of such young students, they should be praised for training that hard because their dedication shows.

Well of course their stance work was great. Heck at that age , I was hanging out with GI Joe in my backyard. If i had only knwo about KungFu or MA alot more then I would have been pretending to be Storm Shadow in real life :p
