Tracy System Push Block

Can someone here give me some advice? While training recently at a Tracy Kenpo school I saw part of the class going through their basic blocks. While most seemed nearly identical to what I had learned back in Parker kenpo from the 60's the push block was unusual. The push block came across the body almost at the shoulder level and then proceeded down. The way I've always done this block brought the palm across and down around the belly button or Dan Tien area.
What is the proper way that Tracy's kenpo performs this block?
