Kimono heavy bath robe? (Not GI, not terry cloth))

I recently purchased a light robe

It is great for summer. I can't seem to find a heavy weight robe for winter in Northern United States. Does such a thing exist? known sellers?

just had a thought. Can i just take a light weight one to a seamstress and have a flannel lining sewn in? I have done that with light weight coats and added lining for winter. However, the light weight jacket has more natural structure than the lightweight robe.

In Japan they are known as yukata and they’re supposed to be lightweight and airy for the summer or post bathing. In the cooler weather, a thickly padded hanten jacket (in various patterns) would be worn over the yukata.

I should add, the hanten doesn’t come together at the front but has a 3-5cm gap when tied up; it takes a bit of getting used to…

You’re either bragging about ‘your length’ or you’re very modest in your own home! At best I walk out of the shower in a towel since my other half has already seen what I’ve got.

I have 2 adult children living with me as well as 18 year old granddaughter. They frequently have friends come over to visit. So when I get out of the shower I never know who I will find in the house. And my wife would be embarrassed as well as angry if I would appear to be exposing my self.

Well, I broke down and ordered two robes. One short and the other long. There were less than $10 each. Not very much at risk if they turn out to be inferior. Who knows I might get lucky.
