You can practice solo but its definitely limiting. I did this for years in college. Mostly worked on my kicks and flexibility. Small classes are ok for learning techniques but large classes can be fun too. More sparring partners. If you need motivation create a form. Its fun to do and there is a good chance you’ll remember it since its your creation.

The only training you can do solo is bagwork, traditional forms or conditioning. Everything else you're wasting your time, even sparring with scrubs gives you better returns at that point.

Definitely, I will say tho training alone for a grappling art sucks so bad.

Thankfully I moved to karate/kung-fu from hapkido, you literally can't grow in a grappling art if you can't train with people better than you.

Only thing worse than training alone as a grappler is being the best in the room.

I could see one of these being great for judo tho, but I feel it would still suck.

That being said Masahiko Kimura mastered the Osoto Gari by training against trees, so I guess I'll stop complaining

In summer i

This morning I hit a fly with a shuto strike against the door strip next to the coffee machine, this was BEFORE i had coffee!
Next time I'll try to get one with one knuckle!

This morning - same place, next to the coffee machine where the flies always like to tease the dragon, I got it with a uraken and hit it right with the knuckle against the same door strip at jodan height. But it dodged my first strike but it was when it sat on on a sharp corner (dangerious to hit so the fly is clever) so i was careful and held back power and thus also was too slow.
