I had an absolutely great training session this morning with a student. Tonight we have a wine tasting party and some old friends coming in to spend the night.

Spent the whole day cleaning the house and rubbing the pregnant wifes' aching back. Gotta love it! Now on the way to get some grub at Outback. I love the crazy hedonism of the weekends ;)

I had a long, boring day at work! Now, I'm here... That's every day though.

Oddly mixed day of pleasure, regret, guilt and frustration :D.

To elaborate, I had a very fine three hours personal tuition from sensei today - one of the things I love about iaido is that after five years you still get light-coming-on "Oh yeah!" moments when something becomes clear.

The regret comes from the fact that I didn't get to watch the Ladies Final at Wimbledon - I knew all along that Venus Williams would clobber whoever she faced this year (very much on form that lady) but I would've liked to have been cheering on her plucky opponent Marion Bartoli.

The guilt comes from the fact that not wanting to miss my iai training and cause my sensei financial problems meant that I could not go and pay my respects at Tez's MMA tournament today. Sorry Tez :(.

The frustration comes from my £5000 printer packing in and my trying to 200 A-Spec the Real Circuit Tours in GT4 in a vastly outclassed car :grr:.

Did you have a lucky day? Blasee? a good work out? A flat tire? Lay it on me..
There won't be this many 7's for ten years!
This will probably jinx me, but So far this day has been lucky. I had an injury in my leg, and after a week and 1/2 the pain was getting worse. Anyways I worked half my shift on crutches last night and at about 12:30 AM 7-7-07 I went home for lunch and found two Ibuprophen (I forgot I had) and made half a pot of coffee. Out of the blue, the muscle cramp due to the injury suddenly loosened and I was able to finish my shift without so much as a limp. I was about to buy stock in Ibuprophen but maybe it was Occult numerology in my favor after all.

I gave blood this morning, and was given my 7 gallon pin; then I went out to lunch, ran a couple of errands, came home, and fell asleep on the couch.

I've had the flu or some such for most of the week and my fever finally broke at 2am. Woke up, had to actually change the sheets and went back to sleep til 5am. Woke again and felt very good. Went to the dojo, Erica and I both got part of our I-kyu testing done. Came home, dug potatoes with my son. My dad came over and we picked beans, onions, radishes and cabbage. So far it's been a great day with the exception that Erica had to work tonight. I'll be so glad when she is done with college and doesn't have to work weekends anymore.

Well, my mom and I went to the mall, and then Barnes & Noble. And, that's pretty much it. Oh, and I watched several hours worth of Pokemon movies on Cartoon Network.

I went for a long bike ride and dropped in on a mate... she was having the winter blues, so i dragged her down to the Aikido dojo to do some pilates and circle walking with me. After that we took her dogs for a walk at the local reservoir and checked out the spillway - it's such a treat to see it running this year! It was a really nice day... only bummer was that i got home so late that i missed Dr. Who!

I think these 2 stories take the 7/7/07 cake:

9News

However, this is Marie Klint's second time around for the date. She was born July 7, 1907 in western Kansas. She says her family grew wheat and that's what they were doing when she was born.

And another from 9News

Robert Purvis III came into the world at 7:01 a.m. on Saturday, July 7.
He weighs 7 pounds, 7 ounces.

That's not all when it comes to lucky number 7s either.

Mom Kristi Purvis is in room 7 at St. Joseph Hospital and she says baby Robert is the seventh grandchild on her side of the family and her husband's side of the family.

<snip>

McKenzie, the Purvis' oldest daughter, was born March 3, 2003. The couple also has a 15-month-old daughter, Dillon.

I witnessed a wedding. The couple in question already had the civil ceremony, but wanted to be married in the Catholic Church. They considered it a good sign to be married on a 7-7-7 day.
