Human Scale Consequences of Global Scale Politics

I offer this article up with no political commentary other than the general one within the thread title. The vast sweep of events on the world stage as nations jostle for influence and eminence can sometimes make us forget that behind the statistics and dry, economic, outcomes are the lives of people just like us i.e. the ordinary that ever pay the bill for the grand.

The Elite play their games with the world being the board and us peons the game pieces. They have no regard for the lives of those not in their inner circles and value our lives about as much as they would that of an insect.

They are the only ones that profit, litterally, from war. We common folk, never do.

Then why does anyone ever support it? Why does anyone ever believe anything that is written in the government textbooks about war? Why do people worship anything with a uniform on? Those people literally work for the elite. None of their policies would be possible without the willing support of the so called sheepdogs.

This is the grand irony of our times, unfortunately. So many people understand that we're getting screwed by the oligarchs...and they keep working for them. Sigh...

It's a cycle that's been repeated throughout history. Our Founder's recognized it and tried to break it through the "Great American Experiment." Alas, it is failing or failed... but that's another topic.

Many of the "so called sheepdogs" will eventually turn and bite the hand of the elite when they’ve had all they can stand. This being one of the many variables that comes into play when a civilization, culture, society, empire, whatever... eventually collapses. You're witnessing this right now as many sheriffs and even some military personnel have openly opposed the current administrations policies.

The outcome is historically inevitable... it's just a matter of time before the guillotines are rolled out. If we survive it, perhaps we’ll finally learn the lesson and evolve as a species.
