Thatās not the kyu grade by the way, but itās low grade. You should just keep practising whatever youāre doing now. There are no short cuts. It's the 6th belt, the next one after red is brown

He was asking for the kyu rank.... which is a number, not a color. The color does not communicate much because every system out there makes their own color order. The Kyu ranks start at 10 for the lowest and 1 for the highest, just before black belt or Shodan. Looking at your picture above your red belt might be Second Kyu.... unless you have 3 levels of brown belt, in which case you would be Fourth Kyu... or Third Kyu if brown only has 2 levels.... but if you have multiple levels of red belts... then we still don't know.... By giving the Kyu rank (the number) it tells people how far from Shodan you are without us having to look up everyone's individual school color chart.Yes it is go look it up, might be different from martial art to martial art

Also, he was just engaging in a little bit of word play with the name of your art.... we all contribute to word play now and again... we don't take ourselves so seriously that we can't enjoy a little friendly word play or even laugh at ourselves a bit.
You want to keep yur oponent's hands as far as you can from your head. Pulling action will reduce your space. Pushing action will increase your space.Understanding that your guard and covering is a pulling action not a pushing action is possibly the biggest step.
Thank you for this wab25ā¦I sincerely appreciate itHe was asking for the kyu rank.... which is a number, not a color. Hi Fran.cis.pt, welcome to Martial Talk, young man, glad to have you here, hope you enjoy our forum.hi, I just registered, but basically I achieve my red belt in wado-ryu karate and then I decided to leave to start practicing a martial art which Incorporates more striking
But my problem is, when I spar I always only throw 2-3 punches/ kicks at a time and I always bring my hand back to my hips, has anyone been through this? And if so how did u overcome it
I do want to mention that the belt ranking you see under people is just a fun way to see how many times they've posted, not an actual indication of their rank. With that said, going through this thread I may be the least-experienced person and lowest ranked person on here in my respective art with just shy of 30 years training.DIdnt expect someone with a grand master level making fun of an martial art but okay ig
Itās a joke, some of us joke a lot. Donāt take it seriously, itās all in good fun.DIdnt expect someone with a grand master level making fun of an martial art but okay ig

Nah Iām 30 years deep and have no rank at all.I do want to mention that the belt ranking you see under people is just a fun way to see how many times they've posted, not an actual indication of their rank. You should be just about at your peak with a balance of physical ability, experience, fermentation and knowledge. I think this sets the stage for the last element to acquire - a holistic understanding of the nature of your art. Enjoy the next few decades.I may be the least-experienced person and lowest ranked person on here in my respective art with just shy of 30 years training.
I think the best way to get used to keeping your guard in the right place is to practice more sparring and ask your partner for the favour and attack more to the head. Then your hands will start to find their optimal place, because the option is that you get hit. The dont have to knock you, but it should sufficiently uncomfortable that you cant ignore it, then you have to overcome the habit.I always bring my hand back to my hips, has anyone been through this? And if so how did u overcome it
