Along the lines of Sukerkin's comment.....when I was much younger and much stupider (I was in college, mmmkay? LOL!) I hung out with some friends at a tavern near my school, and after getting a bit (ahem) buzzed...I tried riding my bicycle home. After one colossal wipeout in the middle of a Boston street (thankfully a quieter one), I managed to ride the rest of the way home without incident.

"Dude, you don't look too good" was the comment my roommate made. I felt worse than I looked. Lesson learned.

never for me, not that it's a supreme act of will, or wisdom -- I simply don't like to have more than one drink in public.

That means one martini, or glass of wine with dinner, which lasts at least an hour. I just don't like any more than that in general, never mind driving.

Also, I figure that late at night I want all my wits about me to try and dodge the other drunk drivers, so I need to be more than sober.
