Chuck Sullivan's 10th Degree Thesis

I just found this Video of Chuck Sullivan's Voluntary 10th Degree Thesis on the IKCA site.

"Using a pair of IKCA UltraMan Dummies he videoed all of the techniques of the system, in order and at full speed and power. A few of the techniques needed to be altered slightly to accommodate the fact that the Dummies could not react to the strikes they were receiving. "

It is worth a look. Too bad there is no video of Mr. Parker doing Long 4 against multiple attackers. That would have been cool.

That was awesome. I must reinterate a point however, I think some of the motion was lost in the cuts. IMHO when filiming kenpo (Mr. Speakman take note) show the whole techinque from a full body perspective to show the flow of action. If you cut, you can lose some of tha motion out of frame.

I doubt this was to be an instructional tape.

More along the lines, to show people that Mr. Sullivan is worthy of his 10 degree. I.E. he can still talk the talk and walk the walk.

Neither are Mr. Speakmans movies That's where I picked up this nitpick. Land of the Free? He ruined most of the fight scene by cutting, and we lost the flow that makes AKK so fun to watch.

It is a pleasure to witness Master Sullivan's demonstration of his skill. He is proof that there are some great instructors out there still that can move as well as talk.

That encoding is terrible I have to say, it looks like it came off VHS, so there was much more to work with.

Never mind, it was good to watch though!

Me too, I wanna move like that as well. My hat's off to Master Sullivan! Boy, whoever gets in his way is gonna get decapitated. I almost feel sorry for the poor idiot that makes that mistake.
