This is probably one of the stupidest ideas/schemes I've heard of in a long time.

Lessee how stoopid it is let me count the ways. (all sarcastic)
1. Finding the area where the body was dumped overboard. Oh yeah like the Navy is going to give you classified coordinates because you don't believe their elite team actually did the job.
2. Likely the body is in one of the deepest parts of the Atlantic which is well over 4000 me-ters (not feet). This map is a simple outlay of the depth contours of the Atlantic http://www.britannica.com/bps/media-view/610/0/0/0 and here is another with zoom and an idea of the bottom's terrain http://www.maps.com/map.aspx?pid=15574 Note: Puerto Rico trench is the Atlantic's deepest point at -8,605 meters (28,232 feet) and it's probably where I'd dump a body.
3. finding a human body isn't the same as finding something like say...mmm the Titanic
4. speaking of the Titanic ... nothing organic survived whilst sitting on the bottom for all those years. Canvas, leather, shroud, human flesh/bones are...organic if I last recall. Might find those lead weights... that'd be a neat collection to sit on his shelf eh?
5. wants to do DNA testing if he manages to recover the body... umm just WHERE did you happen to get a sample of the world's most wanted terrorist's DNA? Oh right the CIA/NSA/FBI will gladly give it to you. Wow... I didn't realize how cooperative our government actually was.

6. Explaining to the families of the troops killed in reprisals by pro-Bin-Laden supporters for desecrating the man's final resting place (even if it isn't up to Muslim standards it's still a gravesite).

On the plus side, he might find one of the spots for Atlantis. :D

7. He's not actually dead but in an undisclosed location dropping sick lyrics with Tupac.

Nothing dead lasts for long in the ocean. OBL has been snacked upon by all sorts of creatures that inhabit the deep.
Perhaps this guy could spend his time and resources in a more productive way? Maybe do something nice for the troops still fighting the war on terror?
Someone with too much time and money.

Was thinking same thing... don't be too offended if this guy shows up at your local Red Lobster wanting to DNA test your savory seafood meal. "He's gotta be 'round here somewhere... I'll find him!"

Surely the site of the body is marked by that lone flip flop floating on the water? How hard could that be to find? :)
