Nothing like good smear tactics to leave people forgetting who's best for the job. (Note, I'm not a Bush fan either...but c'mon)
I recently saw a smear commercial (anti-Bush) that made my stomach turn. It was a "Christmas" skit that talked about how Santa not living in the North Pole, but in the White House. It was full of misleading information...truly bad stuff.
It said that Bush is pushing through a bill to wipe out overtime. Untrue. Bush is pushing a bill through that gets rid of overtime to people making enormous amounts of money per hour (independant computer consultants for example).
Ah well...maybe someday we'll all get together and focus on what's important. What a neat day that'd be.

Not that 2 wrongs make a right, because they don't, but are these ads ANY worse then the lies, scare tactics, and B.S. catchphrases that this administration has been spoon feeding the american people?
I'd say they aren't even as bad. Sure, its sensationalism, but at least the motive is to get someone out of office who they feel shouldn't even be there in the 1st place. This is noble, considering that the motive of our administration is to make as much $$ for all of their favorite buddies, supporters, and special interests as they can, even if it costs the general public big time.
I like facts better then sensationalism, but what's a middle class working fella supposed to do with all the pseudo facts out there being spoon fed by the likes of "Bushites?"

Conservatives dish it out but can't take it. Notice their latest rabid attacks on MoveOn.org. MoveOn had a contest where they asked folks to submit short advertisements to their site to be voted on by visitors. Two, out of over 1000 submissions compared Bush to Hitler. Those submissions were soundly trounced in voting.
Later, the usual suspects start flinging froth-flecked poo about how MoveOn was producing and AIRING commercials that compared Bush to Hitler!
What is it about conservatives and their complete and utter lack of familiarity with anything even resembling a fact?

What I don't understand is why do we allow conservative poo-flingers to consistently get away with their nonsense? It's disgusting, really.
Note that it seems to be OK with the poo-flingers for newspaper editorialists to compare Howard Dean to Hitler. Can you say HYPOCRITES? I know you can.

But I am of the feeling that Liberals today are more prone to feelings than facts when it comes to their decision making.

Now if I read the article correctly most of the unions have contracts about pay scales and overtime definitions. This should not effect them. It would effect those that are Salried Non-exempt and those that are not in a Union or have a contract. And it would only work up to the new level of $20K, which is about $10/hour.
Some people argue that money is not a motivator, others will argue that it is. There is one sure fire way to demotivate someone, and that is to take money away from them. They will find a way to get it back 10 fold and then some.

Seems to me it's OK to complain about taxes, state your sexual alignment, be religious, and proud of your nationality -- unless you are a heterosexual white Christian male with a small business.

But I guess it's OK for one group's rights to be pushed aside while the other group is allowed to "catch up." After all, we're a nation of people not only born equal, but guaranteed to stay that way huh?
You see, it's easy to stay elected if you pander to all the little groups the white people have somehow oppressed since they snuck into the country. This is how Liberals make careers for themselves. Special funds for the minorities to open businesses with, special scoring for the minorities to get into college, kick-backs for having a diverse color at the workplace (as opposed to diverse intelligence backgrounds) and free healthcare, food and lodging on the backs of those who do work.
I know I could do a lot with a book of blank checks drawn on the taxpayers. If that's all it takes to run for office and look good, man, I'm in the wrong field.
