Welcome to MT. Years ago I was in a similar position to you. I started out with my son when he was eight. He's over 40 now and back training with me.

None of my family had an interest at a young age, but my son, older daughter and wife did eventually. My son made it to 4th geup and my daughter to 3rd before they moved away (1st Dan in our school is about 8 years, average) and my wife is a 1st geup. She will promote to Chodanbo in February, and I expect 1st Dan in about a year after that.
