Don, doesn't it concern you a little to have such an ingrained, reflexive, response to a political 'construct'?
I react much the same to the French but I have national, regional and, more importantly, family reasons for that. It doesn't make it right but at least it makes it understandable.
Can you give us some background as to why you have such a strong negative reaction to the Democratic Party of your country?
I don't ask out of any malice but because, even for me who couldn't care less, reading the seemingly endless demonising and belittling 'snapshot' posts erodes the attention paid to the content. It would be interesting to hear the 'why's and wherefores' behind the 'headlines', so to speak.
If the general membership understands more about why you think the way you do we might get fewer tense and heated exchanges in the Study. That can only be a good thing for, as everyone is aware, the rules are much tighter now and it's much easier to lose access.
I do think that it would be a bad thing to lose strong viewpoints from the Study; after all, strong views lead to lively debate. It is likewise important for people to both try to understand each others postion and also to explain their own position as well as they can. That way lies true debate rather than friction.
