At the 1973 1st World Taekwondo Championships in Korea there were two teams representing the USA. I've only seen bits & pieces about who were on each team. I know Mike Warren was on one US team & took 1st, & Ray Sell was on the other US team & placed 3rd.

Can anyone fill in details? Who was on each team? Why were there two teams?

You can find information about it on this web page. Just scroll down a few pages to find the 1973 team.

Thank you for that Master McLain. This site only talks about one of the 2 teams. In one of the B/W photos of the competition floor taken from the balcony is of both GM Hwang's US team & GM Sell's US team.

I'm sure there were issues leading to there being 2 teams. Anyone know what they were?
