Bailiff Excuting Eviction Shoots Man

DETROIT (AP) — Authorities say a 41-year-old man was fatally shot by a Wayne County bailiff executing a search warrant on a home on Detroit’s northeast side.

Detroit Police spokeswoman Yvette Walker says the unidentified man was shot Friday morning after he charged the bailiff. Walker said she didn’t know if the victim had a weapon.

The man died at the scene.

Walker said the bailiff was there perform an eviction. WDIV-TV reports the bailiff and other sheriff’s deputies were clearing out the Tacoma street home that was supposed to be vacant.
