Well, Thursday night was our test for Soo Bahk Do, we had six people testing. Luckily everything went really well, no big problems. I discovered something important though. This was the first test that we used the half sized boards (demo boards) for breaking. The kids went through them much better. In the past, we had the kids break the full sized inch boards and usually ended up scoring them, since they just couldn't get through. Now, since I personally don't think that breaking is too important, other than for confidence and learnign to hit through the target, this is a great idea. It really helps the kids confidence when you don't have to "go find an easier board" or anything. Just going through it really helps. I had never seen that look of achievement when a kid goes through it the first time with a hard technique.
Now the adults....full sized all the way. We had an orange belt go through a full sized board like it was butter - first time no problems. She could have through three boards!
So computer problems.....oh boy. Well, S's computer broke. A really nasty virus. None of our virus software could get rid of it, so I took it to someone who definately looks like he knows his computers. He was a nice guy and seemed to know what he's talking about. Hopefully it comes back good, because with the new camera purchase, I'm not sure that a new computer's in the budget! SO, this weekend, we've been sharing my computer. Basically, I've been giving it to her so that she can do her preparations for the horse show and her "blossoming" photography business.
