What Upgrading Feels Like.

I'm often asked "Bob, what's it like upgrading MartialTalk?"

It's a feeling like no other.

Imagine, a world at peace. Calm. Soothing. Relaxing.

Everything goes smoothly.

Never a need to worry, or consider changing careers, or even to take up drinking.

Imagine fluffy bunnies, soft music, nirvana.

Ok, it's nothing like that.

At all.

It's more like this:


No. Wait. That would be less stressful.

No. Wait a minute. That's still not quite it.


Eh, not quite there yet, but getting closer.

And that is what upgrading a vBulletin site 'feels' like.

Still....could be worse....we could be running PHPBB. I can't post those clips here. :D

The longest wait in the world is the wait for a remote router (or a remote server) to come back up!
 
That is so true. Had to reboot the server last night. Then had to repair a crashed table in the database.Bit stressful at 2am.
 
ROTFLMAO!! Upgrades of any kind are ALL like that. Vbulletin, SQL Server, you name it. Good post!
