I am new to public forums in general and definitely a newb here.

Recently I saw this post: "

ATTENTION ALL USERS:

Previously when delivering warnings, user would receive temporary points that went away after a set time. We are changing this policy to include the potential for permanent points. This does not mean that a suspension/other punitive actions will be permanent, but it does mean that if you continuously repeat behavior that goes against MartialTalk's rules, even with time in between, the resulting consequences will become more severe."

I have poked around in several forum sections and post and cannot figure out how to find or view warnings or infraction points. Just want to stay ahead of stuff like this. Can anyone walk a forum idiot through this?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

All you really need to know is this:
Don't do things that will earn you points.
If you're given a warning, you will be notified.
But again, don't do things that will earn you points.

Do warnings come with points? How many points does one get for an infraction? How many points cause a suspension? Is there a misdemeanor/ felony breakdown? I’m just curious because this is my first online forum as well. Hell I just got my first smart phone two months ago.

Do warnings come with points?
Usually. Don't do anything that will get you warnings.
How many points does one get for an infraction?
Depends. Don't do anything that will get you warnings.
How many points cause a suspension?
There are differents suspension durations. Don't do anything that will get you warnings.
Is there a misdemeanor/ felony breakdown?
Not that you can see. Don't do anything that will get you warnings.

Users are not privy to the small details. Simple answer. Don't do anything that will get you warnings.

That is a subjective and mysterious standard.

How can I improve my performance? Easy, just do your work better.

Here's the way I look at it. It's their house, so they don't have to be fair or even consistent.

Once I really internalized that (in particular the consistency piece), I've been much more at peace with this place. They are not consistent. They are very subjective. They have different standards for different people and are inclined to pigeonhole posters.

And it's their right to do so. Their playground; their rules.

I hate to admit it, but it makes sense given the litigiousness of many users here. To clearly post the rules would lead to subversion of the spirit the rules were created to protect. In short, The DM is always right. It’s on the first page of the 1st edition AD&D players handbook. You can thank E. Gary Gygax, R.I.P.

(insert pigeon coop sounds) I like it in here, it’s war and codgery. Oops, I mean, warm and cozy.
