Thief Breaks Into Store Through Front Door...While It's Open.

Saw this on the Headlines segment of The Tonight Show:

Would-be thief pries door at 24-hour Dunkin’ Donuts

A burglar ended a crime spree in the wee hours Sunday by prying the lock off the door of a Dunkin’ Donuts store that was open 24 hours.

“Dunkin’ Donuts was open and the door was unlocked,” Spencer Detective Michael H. Shea said. “He pried the lock off the door with a sign right next to the lock that says ‘Open 24 Hours.’ So he actually got the lock off and he was trying to tug at it to get the cylinder out and the door opened.”

The man went to the cash register before being startled by a worker.

Police are still gathering surveillance videos. They have one suspect on video, but they have not ruled out a possible accomplice. Anyone with information on the break-ins should call Spencer police at (508) 885-6333 and ask for Detective Shea or Officer Scott Griffin.

They should watch other 24 hour stores ... a guy THIS dumb shouldn't be hard to catch.

Trying to rob cops of their donuts... shame shame!
