The Importance of Stretching

Well I read some research that suggested the usual dose that people take (300mg) is insufficient and even at the revommended 1500mg, it likely takes 3 years before any benefits are received. I also take bromelain and boswellia which are anti inflammatory. But of course, I don’t do meany snap kicks any more.
Pescatarians…eh.

That violates newtons 3 rd law…
Not at all since there is an additional power source. The first power source is the knee (upper leg) moving up and forward. When the knee has powered to the proper angle it stops. Then, by relaxing the knee, the foot (lower leg) flies out purely by the momentum of the upper leg. At the moment of contact with the target the foot stops and is snapped back with the hamstrings. This transition from forward relaxed motion to retrieving the foot with great tensional stress generates much striking force at that instant. It can be likened to the moment the very tip of a whip hits a target with a "crack!." It's a form, I think, of chinkuchi. There may be other ways of doing a front/roundhouse snap kick, but this is how I do it.

Here in China apart from muscles we also eat the cartilage from the animals served att the dining table.
Theory goes - eating cartilage good for one’s cartilage(joint health), eating fascia good for one’s fascia , eating skin good for one’s skin, eating eyes good for one’s eyes….and so on

This would make biological sense if they weren’t smashed up into their constituent amino acids/sugars/fatty acids by digestion processes in the gut!

Here in my Chinese hometown our signature dish is a noodle beef soup. An whole ox(chopped up) is cooked and made to simmer for many hours in a huge jacuzzi like cocking device , the broth that comes out contain all the goodies from all parts of the ox, when eaten all the nutrients respectively find their correct organs to nourish , and so one become as strong as an ox

Be careful, you might start growing horns and ‘mooing’…

Or look like one.

Just across the street from my local beef noodle soup joint I occasionally see one of the neighborhood residents doing a full leg split stretch agains a lamp post.
Just as this guy is doing against a former bamboo sprout

China leg stretch against lamp post - Bing

Yes, a little clumsy attempt to lead myself back to the thread topic, but still I tried.

I love combining yoga with my martial arts practice
Sun Salutations help me start the day flexible, and they're great post-training to stay agile and ready
There is a Jeet Kune Do Athletic Association (JKDAA) group in Laguna Beach that blends tai chai and yoga into there program. Sifu Harinder Singh Sabharwal or just Sifu Singh heads the group. Coach is Brian Olson

Feel it depends like many things with the amount of time one wants to invest, goal and focus.

The Chinese and yoga practices are done based on practices developed for health according to their view of how the body works....

Daoyin Yangsheng Gong (Health-Preserving Daoyin Exercises)

"is a comprehensive system of medical health cultivation exercises developed by Master Zhang Guangde (1931-2022), a professor and martial arts expert at Beijing Sport University.

This system represents a modern synthesis of ancient Chinese “Daoyin” (leading and stretching) techniques with traditional Chinese medical theory and modern physiological principles."

Might help to understand what is being stretched, what constrains the range of movement…how to increase it, how to maintain it..

As mentioned in the video..
There is a tradeoff between range of movement, strength to enable it...and type functional use it's intended for.

Based on your description, can you slowly extend and then retract the foot through the entire range of motion under continuous control? Or is much of that range achieved by momentum once the knee stops, meaning you have relatively little control over the foot during the middle of its travel?

Once you sight in a rifle and pull the trigger the bullet flies to the target. You control everything up to the firing.
