Tai chi video recommendation.

Avoid the Taoist Tai Chi Society (Fung Loy Kok) if you can. Mind you, the farther you are from southern Ontario, the better off you'll be, as a local TTCS/FLK club is more likely to act independently of the Powers That Be in Toronto or Orangeville.
If you want to know more, feel free to PM me.

As for "the real deal," there's no single "core, "authentic," or "real" tai chi club or teacher out there, IMO. There are good teachers of Yang, Chen, Wu, Hao, and Sun styles.
There are no doubt a number of individuals who teach "good" tai chi, in that it both energizes and relaxes you, but not in the usual western sense, I suppose. (Ideally, they also teach applications, but that's not your thing.) It also would teach you stability and an effective, distributed use of your limbs. Of course there's calmness, sensitivity, breathing ... etc.
Most of the time, I think a decent tai chi actually doesn't mess you up, and is better for your health than a brisk 20-minute walk.
(Walking is underrated.)

Now, that's only my opinion, and it with a couple of bucks gets you a cup of coffee. :D

I remember that I read Reed did Taiji, but that all, so now when that came up I looked up, it actually seems he studied Chen-Taiji, his teacher being one named Ren GuangYi, lots of cool pics of Lou doin KungFo

Correct, i actually had a conversation with Ren GuangYi, nice guy, very knowledgeable, student of Chen Xiaowang
