:grins: That'd be nice; to see Dr. Who on the big screen again (can't really count that Hollywood-ised one that was done in the 90's).

McGann was ok. I think if they'd given him a season or 2 he would have been decent. Heard the audio drama's with him are excellent. Also heard he's in the 50th, or one of the 2 lead in shorts. ;)

Aye, nothing wrong with McGann's Doctor; it was just the Americanised writing that wrecked it. If they'd done a film written in the 'correct' (i.e. British sci-fi) style then maybe we would have had a 'resurrected' Dr. Who series much earlier than we did.

My wife and I will be seeing it on the Imax on the 25th. :D

Another rumor is that Davidson has a cameo. :D

My wife and two oldest are looking forward to seeing it in the theater, as well. I, frankly, don't see what the fuss is all about. But I guess I don't have to. I'll just stay home with my youngest and hang out with her.

I've watched that clip 4x now. It's a shame McGann didn't get a year or 2 of his own. His attitude in the middle part seemed very Doctorish.

:removes Steve from the Cool Wall: :p

You have just *so* gone down in my estimation . Of course, Dr. Who and I have been constant companions since I was a boy, so I am highly biased .

Sarah Jane and Jon Pertwee's Doctor are *my* "Dr & Companion" pairing, as in the ones that were current when I was that pre-teen age that really counts for watching Dr. Who.

Elisabeth Sladen was the only 'celebrity' whose death moved me to tears; it was like losing a sister you never really had.

Here's a fairly poor technical quality interview with Jon Pertwee from the early 80's:

And a lengthy convention Q&A panel:

Dunno if I posted this before here.
2nd to 3rd doctor regeneration, redone in 1995 fan film. You might recognize the gent playing #3.

Not sure if that link will work so here is the 'proper' embed code from the BBC iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b03hybnv/

Now I also now that the BBC can be a bit snippy about letting Johnny Foreigner see our stuff so if people can't watch this I shall keep an eye out for it appearing in a more universally accessible form.

I just watched An Adventure in Space and Time, the drama about how Dr. Who came to be as a TV programme. As well as starring the luscious Jessica Raine (reason enough to watch it in my book :D), it has some wonderful performances, especially David Bradley as William Hartnell. It's not a programme I expected to be so moving but it truly was.
