I'm talking celestial bodies now... get your minds outta the gutter for a moment, and look a lot higher.
Found (another) neato site where they took the comparative sizes of our most well known Celestial bodies including planets and stars.

You think you feel small now? Heh... Still it's mind boggling to say the least of how large our own universe is. This gives you some idea. http://www.rense.com/general72/size.htm

Um...I think MA-Caver was talking about the planet. :whip:

Astronomy fascinated me when I was younger. It's interesting to see how our planet and sun measure up to MUCH larger stars. And didn't we consider Betelgeuse to be the largest supergiant at one point?

Ya but thanks to the Hubble and several other Astronomy breakthroughs we know better now... this picture blows me away as well.. these are Galaxies and knowing that a single Galaxy contains billions upon trillions of stars...

How can we be so arrogant to think we're alone?

I think it was Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes said, "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists out there is that none of it has tried to contact us."

Smart kid for a cartoon.

Yup, that would be Calvin (can't remember the exact strip, though). I'm sure that many of our "reality TV" shows are an indication to the aliens how intelligent we really are...or *aren't*... :wink2: :flushed:

Thanks much!

I think it would probably be redundant ... I recall reading somewhere that Io, one of Jupiter's largest moons/satellites is roughly the size of Earth. But we've already seen how big our Earth is to Jupiter.

But googling I found this... http://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/outerp/moons.html
