I went to London this weekend to see the Samurai exhibition at the British Museum. It was very well presented, for the layman with armour, swords, costumes and amazing woodblock prints; the latter impressed me more than anything else! Vibrant colours and crisp details as well as dynamic subjects. I stayed in a budget hotel (Premier Inn) in the Holborn area and it was the perfect location with an excellent japanese restaurant (Eat Tokyo-so reasonably priced, too) right outside the front of the hotel as well as Chinese, Vietnamese and Italian restaurants. The museum was a 20minute walk away and I have to say, the whole experience changed my somewhat negative views on London; my other half and I agreed we’d consider buying an apartment somewhere around the British Museum as a weekend bolt hole. So we’ve started playing the Euromillions Lottery
A big win is what it’d take! We met up with her nephews and medical school friends and ate a bit too much….well they did.
