Inspiring story about a young woman that would not give up on her goal to make something of herself.

“I applied to UF thinking ‘there’s no way I’m going to get in there,’” she said. That was in 2007. Now, Stephenson has an apartment with a reliable roommate, a 3.8 grade point average, and a place to call home. “I have two little air mattresses stacked in my room,” she said with a laugh. “I’m like, ‘this is the life.’”

How inspiring! Thanks for posting that.

I'm curious how she lost her housing such that she was living solo at that point in her life. One of my friends in college was excommunicated from her Jehovah's Witness community her freshman year. She got caught with one joint ... and lost absolutely everything. So much for family values. She's doing great these days though.

You gotta cheer for people like this........ but I hope that this economy doesn't result in her being homeless again. Too many are losing everything they once had.
