It would seem that it is not only extremist, racist, White-English groups that have had enough of a certain religious sect not being held to the same standards of behaviour as everyone else.

I've said it before on these pages, if there is not visible action taken by the authorities, people will start taking things into their own hands, with the all the deplorable consequences such a release of the pent up resentment entails. Cultural sensitivity is one thing, what is perceived as supine surrendering of the tenets of behaviour held to be proper and moral in a country is another. The general public needs to see that criminals of all sects, colours, creeds and nationalities will be handled the same under the law.

Otherwise those who wish to encourage a hateful 'us and them' mentality will have a much easier time of getting people to think of all Muslims as terrorists/murderers/savages etc etc. Once that starts to gain traction then the divide becomes wider and wider and those who get fed up of being tarred with the same brush as people they hold in disdain too will start to push back. Only tears lie down that road, tears for both individuals and the country as a whole.
