If you get the chance, I highly recommend that you set aside the time to watch this documentary from National Geographic.

It's called Churchill's German Army and tells of the German refugees who served in British uniform during the Second World War.

As well as giving the historical narrative, it covers the stories of several men who gave their service to eradicate the Nazi's. Moving in many parts, it also makes you proud to know that spirit's such as theirs existed and that 'evil' is not a racial characteristic but a political one.
