People generally don't value 'free' things.

Indeed. One of the main reasons why I charge $25 for my karate class rather than making it free. That and we occasionally buy pizza and beer with the tuition money for the group instead of saving it for replacement mats like we're supposed to. :)

No kidding... I teach completely for free... I've got 2 kids, a parent & one other student. Befuddles me. I have a feeling if I charged $100 or more, I'd have to turn people away. But I can't do it.

Unfortunately this is one that will only get worse with time... I know I sound stubborn, but when its that personal, time will only add to the likelyhood of no-forgiveness... and its been more than long enough with more than one chance to say something...
